Hyper-short right-handed turf sprint starting from the backstretch and entering the bend almost immediately. Hakodate’s opening uphill climb makes early speed more demanding than Sapporo, while the tight turns and very short 262m final straight heavily favor fast-starting front-runners with strong Power.

• This layout bypasses Corners 1 and 2, concentrating much of the race around Corners 3 and 4.
• Hakodate 1000m turf is mostly used for 2-year-old newcomer and maiden races.
