Track Notes

Course Summary

Right-handed mile-tier turf course starting on the front homestretch. The race opens with a downhill section, but a long uphill climb dominates the backstretch and later turn. Early forward positioning is important because the final straight is short and the tight final bend leaves little time to recover.

Fun Facts

• Mejiro Bright won an 1800m turf race at Hakodate during his 2-year-old campaign.
• Hosts the Tomoe Stakes, a summer open-class race.
• Late-race spurt timing occurs during the uphill section, creating a strict Power check.
• Hakodate’s heavy ryegrass turf can sap acceleration despite the course being classified as Mile-tier.
