Compact right-handed mile-tier turf course with a short 305m opening straight before Corner 1. The race loops through four tight bends, and the short 292m final straight heavily punishes deep closers. Early position and corner agility are key.
Fun Facts
• The Radio Nikkei Sho was first run in 1952 and was promoted to Grade 3 status in 1984. It was run at Tokyo and Nakayama before moving to Fukushima in 1979. Maruzensky won this race in 1977 before it became graded and before it moved to Fukushima.
• Twin Turbo earned his first graded stakes win here in the 1991 Radio Tampa Sho.
• Also used for the Fukushima Himba Stakes, a senior mares' G3 referred to in-game as the Fukushima Umamusume Stakes, since Umamusume characters are female and the game avoids the real-world gender split implied by Himba Stakes.
• All That Jazz, a daughter of Tanino Gimlet, won the Fukushima Himba Stakes in back-to-back years.
