Track Notes

Course Summary

Right-handed inner-loop sprint with a 315m opening straight and Kyoto’s famous Yodo Hill through Corner 3. The short 328m final straight rewards runners that keep momentum through the climb, descent, and tight final bend.

Fun Facts

• The Yodo Hill climb and descent can create major mid-race momentum shifts.
• Aoi Stakes was first run as Aoi Sho from 1985 until 1988 before being renamed, alternating between 1200m and 1400m during that period.
• The Keihan Hai is named after its sponsor Keihan Holdings Co., Ltd., the holding company of Keihan Electric Railway.
